Cultural notes
Most travelers at Spanish airports (Barajas, El Prat, Málaga, Palma) handle their own bags. Trolleys are free at Spanish airports (unlike many European airports where a coin deposit is required). If you use a paid porter service, the fee is set; an additional €1–2 per bag is a courteous tip. Curbside porters at hotels handling airport-bound luggage receive €1–2 per bag.
