Cultural notes
Uber, Bolt, Cabify and FreeNow operate in Spain's major cities — Madrid and Barcelona most fully; Bolt also in Málaga, Sevilla, Zaragoza. Drivers do not expect tips; the displayed fare is final. All apps allow an optional in-app tip after the ride but uptake is low. Cabify in particular brands itself as premium and prefers riders use its post-ride star rating. If a driver helped with luggage, an in-app €1–2 tip or a cash euro is a nice gesture.
